Reshi Khola / Pedong

Reshi is roughly 50 kilometers from Kalimpong, situated along the stream named Reshi is Ideal for tourist on leisure holiday. Short treks to nearby villages are enjoyable. Nearly 30 kilometers towards north after Algarah is Pedong, a monastery of Bhutanese origin built in 1837 is worth a visit. It’s a rustic set up with few places of interest around it. Valley, Forested area, church, monastery are worth visiting.

Lolaygaon / Kaffer

Nearly 32 kilometers from Kalimpong. A lovely spot to view the sunrise it takes nearly couple of hour from Kalimpong through lovely forested hills. A heritage forest and offers fine views of the snowy Singalila Range and nature walk, short trek, bird watching are some of the options one can enjoy. Offers fine views of the Singalila Range covered with snow. Best is the peaceful surroundings and isolation from humanity

Lava / Rishyap / Kolakham

Surrounded by pine forests and often hidden in mists Lava is situated at an altitude of 2350 meters. This small settlement is 34 kilometers from Kalimpong. A beautiful monastery of Bhutanese origin and a Nature Interpretation Centre visit is must. Nature exploration and bird watching is popular in Lava and Rishyap. Changay falls and the entry to Neora Valley with few view points is worth visiting.

Samthar Plateau

A lovely flat land / valley to view the sunrise and sunset. Samthar Plateau is scenic and remote, situated at an elevation of 1400 meters and nearly 80 kilometers from Kalimpong or 45 kilometers from Lava. Breathtaking views of the snowy mountains, superb sunrise and sunset, hamlets, exotic flora, forests, mountain streams all are popular among tourist.

Deollo Hill

This is a beautiful park with a resort in the outskirt of Kalimpong situated at an altitude of roughly 1914 meters and is worth a visit. It is a nice park and an excellent view of the town with a scenic setting; many movies shooting are done here. View of Himalayan Range and the Teesta Valley below and the town is worth gazing for hours.

Neora National Park

This is unexplored area and a four day trek through forests and exotic flora of the National Park is worth enjoying. It passes through today and Tangtey culminating at 3152 meter Rache La tri-junction, to enjoy the Chola Range – The route ends in Dooars. Activities like nature and culture exploration of the Rishi Valley and remote waterfalls is a lifetime experience.

Nursery

Kalimpong and surrounding region is known for over a hundred even more nurseries. The climate and soil suits the trade here and is best for horticultural. The nurseries generally has cultivation of exotic orchid species, including garden varieties such as roses, gerberas, Azaleas, cacti, amaryllis, anthirriums, dahlias, gladioli, orchids, etc.

Dr. Graham's Homes

Established in 1900 the school was set up for underprivileged students by Rev John Anderson Graham. Missionary man to spread education. This was started to educate offspring of British tea planters and local women who were earlier disallowed admissions into regular schools. Now school of international reputes and open to all. Supported by charitable collections and sponsors from all over the world is worth visiting.

Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gumpa / Tharpa Choling Gumpa

Five kilometers away from the town, built in the mid – 1970’s at Durpin Dara Hill is worth visiting. Tharpa Choling is yellow Hat Sect of Buddhism - 40 minute walk from town and lower down the hill, the Thongsa Gumpa of Bhutanese Monastery was founded in 1692.
